12-9-20 THOUGHTS

How should this man live?  I think there’s a book with that title.  Good question!  We all live... HOW TO LIVE is an appropriate thing for us to consider.  Many make this up as they go.  The world tells them how to live as they join the cultural parade.  We go to God’s WORD!        I see three sections below.  1.  Our oneness of mind in love   2. Our defeat of the self as we serve others in love, CHRIST being our example.   3.  The EXULTATION OF JESUS!
Php 2:1-11     Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, 2  make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.
3  Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4  do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. 5
Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6  who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7  but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8  Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
9  For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10  so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11  and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Matt 11:29-30     "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and
YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.  30  "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
John 13:14-15   "If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.  15  "For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you.
Acts 20:35    "In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’"
1Pet 2:21   For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps,
SOUL REST COMES FROM TAKING HIS YOKE!  LEARN FROM THE SAVIOR!

My Prayer:
Thank you, Oh Father, for teaching us to live.  Help us learn and apply what you have taught us.  Make our spirits gentle and loving and regarding of those around us.  Teach us the joy of giving Oh God.  Help us to see love and generosity as the way of life.  Make us good servants.
In the name of Jesus the Christ                Amen
